Raccoon Creek Baptist Church

Since 1837, Raccoon Creek Baptist Church has been known as a place where "rivers of living water flow" to the communities it serves.
Our mission is to encourage all to BELIEVE on the Lord Jesus, create an atmosphere where all can BELONG, and nurture believers to BECOME what God has planned for those who love Him.

Raccoon Creek Baptist Church is one of the oldest churches in Bartow County, GA.
1837 - The church was established and originally met in a log house.
1837 - Became a part of the Coosa Baptist Association.
1839 - The minutes of the church business meetings from January 1839 through June 1839 are missing. Most likely destroyed by the Civil War soldiers.
1846-1852 - The minutes of the church business meetings from June 1846 through May 1852 are missing. Most likely destroyed by the Civil War soldiers.
1850s - Became a part of the Bartow Baptist Association.
1856 - A new church building was constructed that could hold up to 300 people.
1864 - The churchyard was the scene of a Civil War battle formation and the campsite of Sherman's Army for three days.
1917 - A third church building was constructed.
Today - Raccoon Creek Baptist Church is alive and well in the same location it was established at nearly 200 years ago.
